Civic Support

The recent Public Service Strike that has taken place in south Africa created a humanitarian crisis at Hospitals where staff left patients to their own devices.

Militia and DMPSP mobilized Militia members, Milita Cadets, Military Vetrerans and members of the Community were mobilized from the 21 st Aug 2010 to volunteer at Natalspruit Hospital on the East Rand in the provision of Civic Support Duties.

It was hard work for three weeks, The hospital needed some drastic cleaning, patients needed to be fed and washed, medical waste needed to be removed.  Militia worked hand in hand withthe South African National defence Force Military Health Services in providing medics with neccessary support functions at the hospital.

A great Heart warming thanks go out to all those who volunteered in spite of intimidation and even assualt on volunteers by striking workers.  You effort and commitment to civic duty in our country is well appreciated. Congratulations.
